50 km today… I spot fishermen with boat. I love fishermen. They now this river.They dont know English. Bed ? Zimmer ? Pensione? Yes, up that river that hits Donau. I dont like upstream, Iv done that from Mainz to Bamberg, Im not doing upstream. Go in Barka, ship.

So I enter their ship.Two sec, one beer, ten sec a salami, a grilled fish, a bread, and my ship is on a rope on their,a bit bigger ship.Im going upstream on a sidearm of Donau and they lead me to a bed and friends of friends. Thanks to Sanko Sankov and his mates. Im safe 😉

So, the boarder police helped me out from a bay yesterday. The weather was nasty for paddling. So the finest uniforms drove me 3 km straight in to the country. Woke up, was a bit not in the mood for carry pack and board, asked if anyone new anyone with a car. I will pay. Of course. The men turn up. Car is big. They are smiling. I ask “how much?” The answer is a lot of words I dont understand, and the pointing… Means; get your ass in the car, lets find Donau… In the car, with three Romanian men, on the farmland I think back to other countries where I have not made the deal before the driving… The next thought is with full name, I speak with myself ; “Bjorn Olav Heidenstrom you fu#%£€ stupid fu$£€%£ Norwegian and complete idiot – this will be an fu€£$¿¢ expensive drive”

Beatufull countryside. Farmerland. And there is my Donau who Im borrowing of this men and country. I jump of and I want the hard deal to be over and asks how much ?????

17.5.2011, was planning to do 100 km, the first of 3300 km cycling Norway, North – South – Mysen. Starting wild, The most north spot in Norway, ” Nordkapp”. Came 30 km. Snowing with a wind that blew two camping cars of the road. Im not kidding you See the photos on my www.theshirt.no or mate Ingars www.teamkraft.no 17.5.2012, super Romania.Hoping for 40 km, begging for 60, and praying to get over on the other side, Vidin, Bulgaria, to push further down.. Den switch to Romania on the 460 km mark. Did not. Had 2 km/h on the worst. Full stop by the building of the new bridge. Costin, TID paddler, Romania wrote that the wind would double. So I did my expedition math….Use 2000 kilo energy to try to beat nature, or go in a safe place and go out early tomorrow with that energy in my body bank. I went for saving, not fight, and celebrate the national day of Norway with a nice Romanian BBQ pork and one cold Ursus. Maybe two. Its Norway day today. Its windy day. And Jugo’s St Peter said; Dont try to beat my nature 😉
